Best iPhone Duo Cases:
Ranked for a Foldable

A Duo case has one job a normal case doesn't: protect the hinge. We rank what's confirmed so far, and what to demand before buying anything.

1

Apple iPhone Duo Folio — $129

Best overall protection

The only case that covers everything: an elastic hinge cover that extends and retracts as you open, front + back coverage, built-in kickstand, and MagSafe passthrough on both sides of the stand. It also unlocks the StandBy poses properly. Pricey, but it's the one designed around the fold instead of despite it.

2

Spigen Air Fit Pro MagFit — ~$35

Best third-party hinge design

Spring-loaded hinge cover that stays over the mechanism while you open and close — the right idea, executed slim. Polycarbonate + TPU keeps the 11.3mm folded profile from becoming a brick, and MagSafe is built in. The trade-off: no built-in screen protector or kickstand.

3

SPIDERCASE Magnetic w/ Stand — ~$46

Most features per dollar

The all-in-one: hinge coverage, built-in 9H outer-screen protector, kickstand, MagSafe, reinforced corners. Thicker than the Spigen — you're trading pocket-feel for coverage.

Apple iPhone Duo Case — $79

Official but basic

Two-piece polycarbonate covering back and front edges — but the hinge stays exposed. For a first-gen foldable, that leaves the most expensive part unprotected. Fine for scratch protection; pair with careful habits or choose the Folio instead.

Before you buy any Duo case — the checklist

  1. Hinge coverage — spring-loaded or elastic. Exposed hinge = the expensive part is unprotected.
  2. MagSafe built-in — or you lose magnetic charging and mounts.
  3. Inner-screen gap — raised edges protect the outer glass; the inner display is protected by the case's closure, not a lip. Read the protector rules.
  4. Total thickness — the Duo is already 11.3mm closed and 254g. A "rugged" case can push it past comfort.
  5. Stand compatibility — if you'll use tent/StandBy poses, verify the case doesn't block them.
Third-party Duo cases are still thin on the ground — the form factor is six days old. Early adopters will lean on Apple's cases until the ecosystem catches up after launch (Oct 23). We re-rank this page as real products arrive.
